Oysters and Macaroni Au Gratin

Oysters and macaroni au gratin.
  • 1 pint oysters
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup cooked macaroni
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  1. Drain oysters. Melt butter in top of double boiler, blend in flour, add milk and cook until thick, stirring constantly.
  2. Place layer of macaroni in buttered casserole, cover with layer of oysters, sprinkle with salt, pepper and grated cheese.
  3. Repeat layer, pour sauce over contents of dish and cover with grated cheese.
  4. Bake in moderate oven at 350° F for 30 minutes or until brown.
